We All Deserve A Little

"She seems so cool, so focused, so quiet, yet her eyes remain fixed upon the horizon. You think you know all there is to know about her immediately upon meeting her, but everything you think you know is wrong. Passion flows through her like a river of blood.

She only looked away for a moment, and the mask slipped, and you fell. All your tomorrows start here."
Neil Gaiman

Something To Look Forward To

Most of my life.... especially waking up.. was an absolutely disaster for me. You could literally tell me... "Hey, Alyce... You're getting married in twenty minutes...It's 7:45am..." - And I would straight tell you to get the F__K out.... and then start throwing things...and screaming....

Since we have had a Slice of Pie - mornings became a necessity... one I still hated, but it came with its own rewards. Her sleeping on my chest, knowing I loved her more than anything else in the whole world, early morning screaming poops, being shat and peed on in every situation, being covered in spit up when I had just changed clothes... All of it... I loved it all. Those days go by so fast... and soon they are throwing things at you and screaming... "NO, MOMMY!!!!" before you know it...

But.. I digress... As usual...

These days as she is becoming older, and Kitty Ears, takes the morning shift... things have gotten easier. I spend most of my nights after she goes to bed working, working, working. This week I have put in thirty hours... on my business.

Being able to work at 9pm, smoke breaks, checking my Sims while I work... ummmm... Yass, Please.

But I wanted to let you know.. it's not easy. The discipline alone can be ridiculous.. some days you don't want to work 13 hours for free. Some nights.. you just want to go to bed.. But....

YOU KNOW YOU CAN MAKE THIS BUSINESS WORK!
YOU KNOW YOU DESIGN PRETTY AMAZING STUFF!
YOU KNOW YOU NEVER WANT TO HAVE A BOSS AGAIN!

Those little mantras keep me up at night.. doing what I am doing right now. Making these gems for all of ya'll! It is a supreme joy to do what you want to do. And I pity those with passion for nothing... it must be a lonely world. I hope that is one thing I can bring to people with our products.. A little hope.. A little inspiration... A little happiness.

After all - We all DESERVE HAPPINESS.

"Vanilla Heart-Attack Shaped Cake"

Eat at Your own Risk! (lol) Yummo! I really can't stop gushing about this cake, ya'll. Literally... they had to keep it away from me so I wouldn't sleep eat it, and give myself a heart attack from eating it. And, by the way - every piece was worth every palpitation. (don't worry, I only got about two pieces of this cake - it was so good everyone else wanted some, haha) Alrighty - Let's get to it..  First, get your ingredients together and preheat your oven to 350 degrees.  Then whisk your dry ingredients together. This takes place of actually having to buy cake flour. It's a short cut I use, but you can purchase cake flour if you want to, it's your life - however this saves you a bundle of time without having to purchase the flour and gives you a discount plus an even texture throughout the cake.  Start getting the wet ingredients together. Eggs, Sugar, Butter, Vanilla, & Crisco... YES - another recipe with Crisco... ...

"Ain't Nobody Got Time For That" Dark Chocolate Buttermilk Cupcakes

"Ain't Nobody Got Time For That" Dark Chocolate Buttermilk Cupcakes My friend, L and I are the queens of life hacks, and we're always looking for deals, shortcuts, and don't give a shit time savers. She is the queen of coupons and I'm addicted to food shopping, lol. So the other day when I was out marketing (marketing, tee hee) I saw some boxes of these Dark Chocolate Cake Mixes marked off to .50 cents, that's right ya'll - FIDDY CENTS! So of course I grabbed about four boxes and went along my merry way.  I don't usually go for boxed cake mix as my faithful kitchen assistant, Kitty Ears, and I sell authentic, all natural cakes and we're foodie snobs who frown upon such things, but sometimes you want a cupcake and you'll be damned if you're gonna spend five hours in the kitchen whipping up an organic cake with chocolate ganache... I mean... come the fuck on... "Ain't Nobody Got Time For That" every day. Recipe...
